Meditation Update

Dear Friends
As you know, most of our activities at the Hope Centre have had to be cancelled, for the moment, due to the tighter restrictions announced on 4th January 2021.
We are, however, able to continue with our regular Meditation sessions under the rules which cover “Places of Worship” returning on Tuesday 12th January 2021 at 7.30pm:

  • Tuesday 7.30pm
  • Wednesday 12.45pm
  • Thursday 7.30pm

We are just letting you know that we are indeed now open for meditation and look forward to welcoming any who feel ready and comfortable to come.  We have strict protocols and social distancing in place.  All meditators are required to wear a mask at all times. Payment can be (exact) cash or (contactless) Card.

We feel it is important that we provide a peaceful, positive and hopeful presence in these challenging times.
We hope you are all keeping well and that we may welcome you back to the Hope Centre in the future.
Kind regards
The Hope Centre Team

National Lockdown January 4th 2021

In light of the latest ‘National Lockdown: Stay at Home’ Government announcement at 8pm on 4th January 2021, sadly The Hope Centre is now unable to offer the meditation sessions until further notice in addition to the therapies and courses with the exception of Acupuncture which, at the time of writing, can continue. Please contact Jason at JHS Acupuncture for further details

This will be kept under review over the coming weeks so please keep checking our Website for updates as the situation unfolds.

Thank you for your continued support and please don’t forget you can access our Hope Centre Manchester YouTube Channel meditations which are available at all times:

Update 7/8/2020

Hi

We have had a few enquiries following the latest guidelines and restrictions announced a couple of days ago.

We are still running our normal sessions at the usual times (Tuesday 7.30, Wednesday, 12.45 and Thursday 7.30. We are not affected by the recent Greater Manchester additional restrictions which relate to residential and not commercial premises.

We are however affected by the national guidelines which now require masks to be worn in “Places of Worship”” and Community Centres etc (as well as several other types of premises). The new rules come into force on 8 August so from next week masks will need to be worn for Meditation unless you are exempt for medical reasons.

Apart from the masks we continue to operate as we have done for the past few weeks. Numbers are limited and guests need to sanitise on arrival. We are not doing refreshments, alignments or congregating in the communal room. 2m social distance is maintained in the meditation room and people will arrive and leave keeping that distance.

The areas of the centre including chairs, door handles, lockers etc are sanitised after each session to minimise the risks to guests and staff.

We look forward to welcoming you back. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards

The Hope Centre Team

Foundation in Light 2023/24

NEW COURSE BEGINS APRIL 1st  2023

We are delighted that the Foundation in Light course will begin another cycle in April.

The Foundation in Light is a unique course in the spiritual understanding and working knowledge necessary to nurture and develop a life in healing – whether for yourself and those around you, or to take a healing path into a career as a therapist.  This course provides all the building blocks for a Foundation to reach into, and towards, all your potentials. Many students have found the course to be truly life changing.

The course is over 12 months and there will be a Certificate of Completion which assists entry on all The Light of Hope CIC College of Light Diploma courses. The ‘Foundation’ course is experiential and aims to develop good spiritual ‘housekeeping’ of both a personal and environmental nature, and will be of interest to all, whether or not a career in healing is the ultimate goal.

The ‘Foundation’ course encompasses all aspects of personal energy, meditation and self-healing techniques. It brings an appreciation and understanding of holistic therapies – why and how they work. Students will experience healing – both giving and receiving.  Dimensions beyond the physical will be covered – including guides, angels, masters; life beyond the physical and connections to those who have passed to the light.

An understanding of the many levels of life beyond our physical and planetary nature is key to our role on the earth at this time and the course aims to give the individual a very real perspective to their own place in the divine plan.

The course involves one full Saturday each month (Foundation Days)  and one Monday evening 7pm -8.30pm for  ‘Steps’ teachings.

Course Structure

  • Each student will be allocated a personal mentor to guide and support their development
  • Students, as part of their personal development, will be required to attend a minimum of two evening group meditations per month. They may attend as many meditations as they wish.
  • There will be a student card pass ‘Ticket to Light’ which will access all available events to ‘Foundation’ students.
  • The ‘Foundation in Light’ course is non-denominational and open to all irrespective of religious, social or academic background
  • Students who do not register for the total ‘Foundation’ course may attend each study day or event separately and individually, and pay accordingly.
  • If students miss any days or evening presentations then they can catch up the following year without additional charge.

COURSE FEES: 10% deposit of £58 and 12 monthly payments of £43.30 by standing order (total payable £580.00). OR

Full payment in advance £493 (15% discount)

Light of Hope Meditations on YouTube

Hi Friends

MEDITATIONS ON YOUTUBE

You will no doubt be aware that the Hope Centre Manchester is now closed and all its activities suspended until further notice due to the Coronavirus outbreak that started in March 2020.

If you wish to continue to meditate regularly with your Hope Centre Manchester friends you can now do this on YouTube, as we are now in the process of uploading a new guided meditation for each day of the month with the project name of ‘meditations31’.

You may wish to meditate at the usual Hope Centre times:

Tuesday evenings 7.30

Wednesday lunchtimes 12.45

Thursday evenings 7.30

The meditations will be available at any time you wish. The most important thing is to keep meditating regularly, every day if possible!

Most of the meditations are about 18-20 minutes in length, with a shorter ‘music only’ middle section. These shorter versions were originally written to give people the option to meditate at work in their breaks or at lunchtime. The length of each meditation is displayed on the titles for each piece.

To locate the meditations simply search on YouTube for:

Coronavirus 21/03/2020

Dear Friends

The time has come when we must close the Hope Centre temporarily for all Group activities including Meditations and Therapies. This is sad but necessary and sensible.

When we have had time to meditate and consult with members we will offer further information, guidance and assistance, where needed.

We plan to take the opportunity to work in different ways during this period of physical limitation and welcome any suggestions.

Clearly our financial position will be stretched in the event of an extended period of closure but we are confident that we will be OK and will emerge from this cycle in greater strength and wisdom.

We will keep in touch via Facebook, and our website www.lightofhope.co.uk and by email.

Love

Alison, Anna and John

Introduction to Astrology Workshop

Introduction to Astrology Workshop with Janet Robinson

Saturday 18th April 2015 – 10am to 4pm

  • What is Astrology?
  • Basic Astrology
  • How a birth chart is constructed
  • Who am I? How to interpret your chart

Everyone who attends will receive their own personal birth chart.

Astrology consists of several systems of divination based on the premise that there is a relationship between astronomical phenomena and events in the human world. Many cultures have attached importance to astronomical events, and the Indians, Chinese, and Mayans developed elaborate systems for predicting terrestrial events from celestial observations. In the West, astrology most often consists of a system of horoscopes purporting to explain aspects of a person’s personality and predict future events in their life based on the positions of the sun, moon, and other celestial objects at the time of their birth.

Throughout most of its history, astrology was considered a scholarly tradition. It was accepted in political and academic contexts, and was connected with other studies, such as astronomy, alchemy, meteorology, and medicine.

Astrology has been dated to at least the 2nd millennium BCE, with roots in calendrical systems used to predict seasonal shifts and to interpret celestial cycles as signs of divine communications. A form of astrology was practised in the first dynasty of Mesopotamia (1950–1651 BCE). Chinese astrology was elaborated in the Zhou dynasty (1046–256 BCE). Hellenistic astrology after 332 BCE mixed Babylonian astrology with Egyptian Decanic astrology in Alexandria, creating horoscopic astrology. Alexander the Great’s conquest of Asia allowed astrology to spread to Ancient Greece and Rome. In Rome, astrology was associated with “Chaldean wisdom”. After the conquest of Alexandria in the 7th century, astrology was taken up by Islamic scholars, and Hellenistic texts were translated into Arabic and Persian. In the 12th century, Arabic texts were imported to Europe and translated into Latin, helping to initiate the European Renaissance.
